Pricing

What does a custom website actually cost?

The honest answer: it depends. Not because I'm being evasive — but because your business is different from the last one, and a website should reflect that. Here's what actually drives the cost, and what you can expect when you work with me.

Every project is scoped individually.

I don't publish a price list because a one-page site for a sole proprietor and a multi-feature web application for a professional practice aren't the same thing — and pretending they are doesn't serve you. What I can tell you is that I price work to be accessible to small businesses, and I'll give you a clear number before any work begins.

What I won't do is lock you into a platform that charges you monthly just to keep your site alive, hand you a template and call it custom, or disappear after launch. The work is yours when it's done.

These are the factors that move the needle.

When I put together a quote, these are the things I'm thinking about. Understanding them helps you know what to ask for — and what you can leave out if budget is a consideration.

Number of pages

A homepage, about, services, and contact page is a very different build than a site with a full portfolio, team directory, blog, and resource library. More pages means more design and development time.

Dynamic content & admin features

Every site I build includes a secure admin panel so you can update your own content. The scope of that panel — what you can edit, how much control you need — affects how complex the build is.

Custom functionality

Appointment booking integrations, e-commerce, patient portals, member logins, scheduling systems — any feature that goes beyond a standard informational site adds scope and cost.

Content & assets

If you have your copy, photos, and logo ready to go, the project moves faster. If you need help writing content or sourcing imagery, we can factor that in — it just adds to the timeline and scope.

Turnaround time

A standard build timeline gives both of us room to do the work well. Rush projects are possible, but compress the timeline for feedback, revisions, and getting things right.

Hosting

Hosting is available as an add-on. It keeps everything in one place — one person to call if something needs attention. Billed annually, with no third-party platform in the middle.

No matter the scope, this comes standard.

These aren't upsells. They're just how I build.

Fully custom design

Built around your brand, your content, and your business — not a template you're forced to work within.

Secure admin panel

Update your own hours, announcements, photos, and content whenever you need to — no developer required, no waiting.

Mobile-responsive

Your site works on every screen size — phone, tablet, desktop — without any extra effort on your part.

Fast, clean code

No bloated page builders, no unnecessary plugins, no platform overhead. Just lean, hand-written code that loads fast.

You own it outright

No platform lock-in. No monthly fees to a third party just to keep your site online. The code is yours.

What the difference looks like.

The site you built is way better than the one I puttered around GoDaddy to make. It looks like a real website — not something a random uncle made. GoDaddy was a lot more effort than I expected, and frustrating to use. All for something that just looks okay.
